Cabernet Franc Reserve

The Cabernet Franc Reserve from Seegut Lentsch is a structured red wine from Burgenland — a region where the Pannonian climate with long, warm autumns brings Cabernet Franc to unusual ripeness.

Seegut Lentsch is located on Lake Neusiedl, where the proximity to the water balances the temperature fluctuations between day and night and ensures a slow, even ripening of the grapes. The Reserve line stands for selected grapes and longer cellar work — typically aging in wooden barrels, which gives the wine depth and longevity.

In the glass, the wine shows aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and a characteristic bell pepper note that distinguishes Cabernet Franc in cooler locations. Added to this are hints of graphite and dark spice, a medium to full body, and fine, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and spicy.

Best served at 16–18 °C — with roast beef, grilled lamb, or a spicy hard cheese like mountain cheese. If you want to let the wine open up a bit, decant it an hour before drinking.

Seegut Lentsch

On the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl, where sun, wind, and water set the pace, lies the Seegut Lentsch. For three generations, the family has been cultivating wines here in Podersdorf that tell of this special patch of earth – honest, unmistakable, with soul. It is a winery that does not rely on effect, but on what the place itself has to give.

The Pannonian climate noticeably shapes the character of the vines: the warmth of the lake, the wide gravel soils, the special light that lies over the plain. What grows here tastes exactly like this place – and nothing else. This close connection between landscape and glass is what makes the wines from Lentsch so special and gives them a signature that cannot be copied.
