An uncomplicated white wine from Lower Austria, which stands for effortless drinking pleasure with its lively acidity and floral-fresh aromas.

The Hugl/Wimmer winery cultivates vineyards in Lower Austria, where Welschriesling is traditionally grown. The Hermannschachern vineyard yields light, aromatic wines – a variety that in Austria is known for uncomplicated, acidic wines best enjoyed young and fresh.

In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow color. The nose offers floral aromas – elderflower and white peach – with a hint of green citrus. On the palate, it is fresh and light-bodied, with invigorating acidity and a clean, short finish. Not a wine cellar candidate, but a wine for enjoying anytime.

The Hugl winery is one of Austria's young, up-and-coming businesses, which Martin Hugl and his wife Sylvia took over from his father a few years ago. Nestled in the idyllic wine region near the Czech border, the winery is located in the small town of Poysdorf, in the heart of the picturesque Weinviertel. Since 2021, Hugl wines have been entitled to bear the "Sustainable Austria" quality seal. From vineyard work to winemaking and bottling, our entire operation underwent a thorough sustainability review. The certification process assessed the economical use of water, energy, and chemical fertilizers, the efficient use of machinery, fair working conditions, and sustainable business practices.
