Hugl/Wimmer

The Hugl winery is one of Austria's young, up-and-coming businesses, which Martin Hugl and his wife Sylvia took over from his father a few years ago. Nestled in the idyllic wine region near the Czech border, the winery is located in the small town of Poysdorf, in the heart of the picturesque Weinviertel. Since 2021, Hugl wines have been entitled to bear the "Sustainable Austria" quality seal. From vineyard work to winemaking and bottling, our entire operation underwent a thorough sustainability review. The certification process assessed the economical use of water, energy, and chemical fertilizers, the efficient use of machinery, fair working conditions, and sustainable business practices.

Hugl/Wimmer –
Family winery from the heart of the Weinviertel region

Nestled in the gentle, rolling hills of the Weinviertel region, the Hugl/Wimmer winery is located in the heart of Poysdorf , a small town near the Czech border. Martin Hugl and his wife Sylvia took over the business from his father and have since run it with a clear vision for the future: meticulous craftsmanship, deeply rooted in the region, and uncompromising in their commitment to responsibility.

Since 2021, the winery has held the "Sustainable Austria" quality seal – a certification that scrutinizes the entire operation: from water and energy management to the use of pesticides and fair working conditions. For Martin and Sylvia Hugl, this is not a marketing promise, but a lived practice in both the vineyard and the cellar.

The wines reflect the unique character of the Weinviertel region: clear fruit, fresh acidity, and an unobtrusive style that pairs beautifully with food. If you're looking for wines made by a family with a strong sense of values, you've come to the right place.
