Hugl/Wimmer Zweigelt Rosé

An uncomplicated rosé wine from Lower Austria that delivers exactly what Zweigelt is known for as a rosé: clear red fruit, fresh acidity, light body.

The Hugl/Wimmer winery relies on classic rosé vinification: short maceration, temperature-controlled fermentation at 17°C, and aging in stainless steel tanks. The result is a single-varietal Zweigelt rosé without oak influence—fresh, easy-drinking, and unpretentious.

In the glass, it shines a salmon pink. On the nose, strawberry and raspberry, a hint of citrus zest. Light on the palate, with lively acidity and a short, clean finish. No residual sugar to cloyingly sweet – dry and direct.

Serve well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with summer dishes: Caprese salad, grilled salmon trout, light pasta dishes with tomatoes, or as a patio wine on warm evenings.

The wine has a medium-strong rosé color.

The wine has a medium-strong rosé color. It has a fine acidity, the great fruitiness and the harmony between light sweetness and acidity.

Hugl/Wimmer

The Hugl winery is one of Austria's young, up-and-coming businesses, which Martin Hugl and his wife Sylvia took over from his father a few years ago. Nestled in the idyllic wine region near the Czech border, the winery is located in the small town of Poysdorf, in the heart of the picturesque Weinviertel. Since 2021, Hugl wines have been entitled to bear the "Sustainable Austria" quality seal. From vineyard work to winemaking and bottling, our entire operation underwent a thorough sustainability review. The certification process assessed the economical use of water, energy, and chemical fertilizers, the efficient use of machinery, fair working conditions, and sustainable business practices.
