Hugl Grüner Veltliner 1.0L

A classic Austrian Grüner Veltliner that shows the typical character of the grape variety: spicy, fresh and easy to drink.

The Hugl/Wimmer winery represents solid Lower Austrian wine culture. Grüner Veltliner is the leading grape variety of the region – cultivated on loess soils and primary rock, known for its characteristic spiciness and lively acidity.

On the nose, slightly floral with the characteristic white pepper that makes Grüner Veltliner so distinctive. On the palate, fresh fruit – green apple, a hint of citrus peel – before the peppery notes intensify towards the mid-palate and finish with a clean, spicy note. Pleasantly light without being heavy.

Serving suggestion: Well chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with Wiener Schnitzel, vegetable gratin, salmon trout, or a simple cold platter. Also a great choice as an uncomplicated aperitif. The liter size makes it ideal for social gatherings – drink it now, no need to age it.

light dry white wine

Dry, but not sour. Delicious and light. I often drink Hugl wines and have never been disappointed.

Hugl/Wimmer

The Hugl winery is one of Austria's young, up-and-coming businesses, which Martin Hugl and his wife Sylvia took over from his father a few years ago. Nestled in the idyllic wine region near the Czech border, the winery is located in the small town of Poysdorf, in the heart of the picturesque Weinviertel. Since 2021, Hugl wines have been entitled to bear the "Sustainable Austria" quality seal. From vineyard work to winemaking and bottling, our entire operation underwent a thorough sustainability review. The certification process assessed the economical use of water, energy, and chemical fertilizers, the efficient use of machinery, fair working conditions, and sustainable business practices.
