Herrenberg Riesling Spätlese PW Mosel 0.75L
The Herrenberg Spätlese from Maximin Grünhaus shows what the Mosel is famous for: a precise interplay of natural residual sweetness and lively acidity that keeps the wine light-footed despite its richness.
Maximin Grünhaus is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries on the Moselle — the Herrenberg vineyard, along with Abtsberg and Bruderberg, is one of the estate's three single vineyards located on the Ruwer tributary. The Riesling vines grow on weathered slate, which imparts its characteristic minerality to the wine.
On the nose, citrusy freshness of lime and kiwi, accompanied by herbal notes of lemon verbena and green tea, as well as floral hints of yellow dandelion blossom. On the palate, it displays the typical tension of a late harvest wine: the sweetness is supportive, the acidity lingers – no stickiness, no abruptness, but a long, fresh finish.
Pairs well with blue cheese, Asian curries with coconut milk, or caramelized pork belly. Serving temperature: 8–10 °C. If desired, age for another two to four years to further intensify the aromas.
