Heritage 560 Tautavel

Tautavel is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world — pollen analysis proves that grapevines existed there as far back as 560,000 years ago. Gérard Bertrand has made this place his reference point for the Roussillon region.

The winery is among the most renowned estates in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. Gérard Bertrand cultivates his vineyards using strictly biodynamic methods, focusing on old vines deeply rooted in the limestone-rich, southeast-facing terraces of Tautavel. The poor soil and dry Mediterranean climate result in concentrated, characterful grapes.

In the glass, the Heritage 560 displays a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it opens with aromas of red fruits—raspberry, a hint of blackberry—and subtle spice notes such as pepper and lavender, typical of this corner of Roussillon. On the palate, the supple tannins come to the fore: no harshness, a rounded body, and a pleasantly long finish.
