Fantini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC

The Fantini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is an uncomplicated red wine that shows why Abruzzo is one of the most reliable sources of everyday red wines in Italy: clear fruit, decent structure, and an easy-drinking character.

The Fantini Group is one of the largest wine producers in Abruzzo and works with Montepulciano grapes from the DOC region of the same name, located between the Apennines and the Adriatic coast. The climate—hot summers and dry autumns—gives the grape variety the necessary ripeness for rich fruit flavors combined with stable acidity.

In the glass, it displays aromas of sour cherry and plum, along with a light vanilla note suggesting brief oak aging. On the palate, it is present with firm but not harsh tannins, balanced acidity, and a medium-length, fruity-spicy finish.

Ready to drink now, no aging required. Best served at 16–18 °C . Pairs well with:

  • Pasta with meat sauce or Bolognese
  • Pizza with salami topping
  • Grilled lamb chops
  • Pecorino or Provolone

Fantini Group Vini

Fantini Vini is a wine group in southern Italy, founded in 1994 in the Abruzzo region by three visionary friends, Filippo, Valentino, and Camillo, under the name Farnese. They were also known as the Three Dreamers because they succeeded in realizing an impossible dream: to create something that would become the pride of southern Italy. Despite having neither money nor their own vineyards, they developed a highly innovative business model that, after 30 years, boasts more than 100 successful wines from southern Italy.
