Fantini Sangiovese Terre di Chieti

In the Abruzzo region, more precisely in the province of Chieti, lies the medieval castle of Ortona. High-quality wines have been produced here since the 14th century, which even at that time enjoyed a high reputation at many noble tables. Now the wines are produced under the direction of Farnese Vini, which has turned its attention particularly to local autochthonous grape varieties, but also to international vines. An example of this is the one made 100% from the most widespread red wine grape variety, Sangiovese. After a 10-day maceration fermentation, the wine is further aged in large wooden barrels and in steel tanks before being bottled after approx. 6 months.

Color: deep, luminous ruby red. Smell: The fruity scent of sour cherries and strawberries caresses the nose when smelling a glass of Sangiovese. Very light wood tones are also added.

Taste: In terms of taste, the Sangiovese is balanced with medium tannins and a strong acidity. The fruity aromas come into their own well.

Fantini Group Vini

Fantini Vini is a corporate group in Southern Italy that was founded in 1994 in the Abruzzo region under the name Farnese by three visionary friends: Filippo, Valentino, and Camillo.

They were also called the three dreamers because they succeeded in realizing an impossible dream: to create something that would become the pride of Southern Italy. Despite the fact that they had neither money nor their own vineyards, they developed an extremely innovative business model that, 30 years later, can boast more than 100 successful wines from the south of Italy.
