Cote des Roses Chardonnay Gérard Bertrand

A Chardonnay from the Languedoc that combines the warmth of the south with Burgundian vinification – opulent, but not heavy.

Gérard Bertrand is one of the most renowned winemakers in southern France. His vineyards around Narbonne and the Corbières are managed biodynamically, and the Côte des Roses line grows on calcareous soils with high levels of sunshine – this gives the wines structure and depth despite the warm climate.

In the glass, the Chardonnay displays ripe yellow pear, white peach notes, and a hint of acacia. Butter and hazelnut in the background suggest oak aging, while a smoky finish lends the wine length. The body is full, the acidity restrained – a wine for those who prefer a rounder style.

Serving suggestion: Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with salmon with saffron sauce, roasted chicken breast, or a risotto with Parmesan. Also a good choice as an aperitif on warm evenings. Drinking window: now until 2027.
