Barbera d'Alba DOC

A Barbera with real weight: substantial, dark-fruited, and with an aging process that gives this often-underestimated Piedmont classic clear contours.

Cordero di Montezemolo is one of the traditional estates in La Morra in the heart of the Langhe — known primarily for its Barolo sites, but also for Barbera, which is far more than a simple everyday wine. The vines grow on typical Tortonian limestone marl, which gives the wine its characteristic acid structure.

After fermentation, the wine ages for 5–6 months in oak. This is evident on the nose: blackberry and dark plum meet vanilla, clove, and a hint of licorice, with a touch of dark chocolate in the background. On the palate, warm, soft tannins, full body, with the varietal-typical acidity firmly integrated. The finish is long and slightly spicy.

Cordero di Montezemolo

The history of the Italian winery Cordero di Montezemolo dates back to 1340 when it was founded by Pietrino Falletti. Now in its 19th generation, it is owned by Giovanni Cordero di Montezemolo and his wife. Located in the Piedmont region, the winery originally cultivated 28 hectares of vineyards, which has since been expanded to 38 hectares through further investment. Among the grape varieties cultivated by Cordero di Montezemolo are Barbera, Chardonnay, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, and Arneis.
