Nebbiolo Langhe DOC

A Nebbiolo that shows what the heart of Piedmont can do — before it becomes Barolo: concentrated, aromatically complex, with structure without harshness.

Cordero di Montezemolo is one of the classic estates in La Morra — one of the best sites for Nebbiolo in all of Piedmont. The grapes for this Langhe DOC come from vineyards between La Morra, Alba, and the Roero River, harvested from 6- to 7-year-old vines of the Barolo clone line.

A clear garnet red shines in the glass. The nose opens with very ripe dark fruits—blackberry, plum—followed by tobacco, cocoa beans, violets, and a hint of sweet spices. On the palate, it displays what Nebbiolo rarely achieves in its youth: soft, velvety tannins combined with a dense body.

Cordero di Montezemolo

The history of the Italian winery Cordero di Montezemolo dates back to 1340 when it was founded by Pietrino Falletti. Now in its 19th generation, it is owned by Giovanni Cordero di Montezemolo and his wife. Located in the Piedmont region, the winery originally cultivated 28 hectares of vineyards, which has since been expanded to 38 hectares through further investment. Among the grape varieties cultivated by Cordero di Montezemolo are Barbera, Chardonnay, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, and Arneis.
