Castello Banfi Chianti Classico

Castello Banfi Chianti Classico
A Chianti Classico from the heart of Tuscany that perfectly captures the strengths of the Sangiovese grape: dark fruit, lively acidity and tannins with substance.
Castello Banfi is located in the southern part of the Chianti Classico region, between Florence and Siena. The winery cultivates several hundred hectares of vineyards on sandy Galestro limestone – a soil that lends Sangiovese freshness and structure. Banfi has become known for its consistent quality management over decades; its wines regularly appear in international competitions (Critics Challenge 2017: Gold, 91 points for the 2015 vintage).
In the glass, the wine displays aromas of sour cherry and plum, along with a hint of dried herbs and a slight earthy note—typically Tuscan. The acidity is present but integrated; the tannins are firm without being harsh. A medium-long finish with a subtle spiciness.
