Castello Banfi Centine Rosso Toscana IGT
A classic introduction to the world of Castello Banfi: The Centine Rosso brings together the best of Tuscany in an accessible, everyday cuvée.
Castello Banfi is one of Tuscany's most renowned wineries, located in the heart of Montalcino – the Brunello region. Their Centine Rosso is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot : Tuscany's flagship grape variety meets internationally proven varieties, an approach that has been a hallmark of many progressive wineries in the region since the 1980s.
In the glass, the wine displays dark cherry, plum, and a hint of blackberry, underpinned by delicate notes of cedar and vanilla. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, the acidity moderate – resulting in a well-rounded, very drinkable red wine with noticeable structure on the finish. James Suckling awarded the 2015 vintage 90 points.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with pasta al ragù, grilled sausages, lamb chops, or a mature Pecorino Toscano. Also a simple and enjoyable drink on its own after work.
