Banfi Aska Bolgheri Rosso DOC

Banfi Aska Bolgheri Rosso DOC
A red wine from Bolgheri that shows why this coastal region of Tuscany is one of Italy's most exciting locations: ripe fruit, Mediterranean spice, and a structure that promises more substance than the price might suggest.
Banfi is one of the most famous names in the Tuscan wine world – established primarily through Brunello di Montalcino, and now also active in Bolgheri. The Bolgheri DOC on the Tyrrhenian coast is the home team of the Super Tuscans: warm summers, well-ventilated sea breezes, and predominantly sandy soils that drive Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah to special ripeness.
In the glass, the Aska shows dark blackberry, black cherry, and a hint of dried herbs – thyme, rosemary – as is typical for the Tuscan Maremma. The aging process brings a subtle vanilla note into play; the tannins are present but well-integrated. Medium to full body, warm finish.
Serving recommendation:
- Temperature: 16–18 °C
- Tasting & Serving: Bistecca, lamb shank with rosemary, mature Pecorino, pasta with wild boar ragù
