Banfi Aska Bolgheri Rosso DOC

Banfi Aska Bolgheri Rosso DOC
A red wine from Bolgheri that shows why this coastal region of Tuscany is one of the most exciting locations in Italy: ripe fruit, Mediterranean spice and a structure that promises more substance than the price suggests.
Banfi is one of the most renowned names in the Tuscan wine world – primarily established through Brunello di Montalcino, and now also active in Bolgheri. The Bolgheri DOC on the Tyrrhenian coast is the home of the Super Tuscans: warm summers, refreshing sea breezes, and predominantly sandy soils that allow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah to reach exceptional ripeness.
In the glass, the Aska displays dark blackberry, black cherry, and a hint of dried herbs—thyme and rosemary—typical of the Tuscan Maremma. The aging process introduces a subtle vanilla note; the tannins are present but well-integrated. Medium to full-bodied, with a warm finish.
Drinking recommendation:
- Temperature: 16–18 °C
- Dishes: Bistecca, leg of lamb with rosemary, mature pecorino cheese, pasta with wild boar ragù
- Drinking window: now until 2027
