Bersano Eroe Roero Arneis DOCG

The Roero Arneis from Bersano shows why this Piedmontese grape variety has long been receiving attention beyond the region: straw-yellow in the glass, aromatically open, with a pleasant freshness without sharpness.

Bersano is one of the traditional houses of Piedmont, based in Nizza Monferrato and with decades of experience with the classic grape varieties of the region. The Arneis comes from the Roero – the hilly area north of the Tanaro, which gives the grape its characteristic lightness with its sandy soils.

The grapes were harvested by hand in mid-September and fermented at a controlled 16–18 °C for 20 days. Aging in steel tanks preserves the aromatics: honey, ripe pear, and a hint of herbs, plus a restrained spiciness on the finish. The acidity is moderate, the body lean – a white wine that does not demand, but invites.

Serving recommendation: Well chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs with antipasti, light fish, risotto with zucchini, or a simple vitello tonnato. Also an uncomplicated pleasure as an aperitif on its own.
