Badarina Barolo DOCG Riserva

Garnet red with orange reflections in the glass — the color alone reveals that this Barolo Riserva has brought time with it. Five years of aging, eight months of which in French barriques, form a Nebbiolo that leaves the strictness of the variety behind a velvety-soft texture.

Bersano is one of the oldest and largest private wineries in Piedmont. Founded at the beginning of the 20th century, the house today manages over 230 hectares of vineyards in the core sites of Asti and Cuneo. The Badarina comes from the single vineyard of the same name — a name that has stood for structure-strong, age-worthy Barolos in Piedmont for decades.

On the nose, dried roses and violets dominate, complemented by a classic hint of tar and fine tobacco nuances that come with wood aging. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied but without heaviness: the tannins are present, yet well-integrated and velvety — a sign of the long barrel aging. The acidity gives structure and freshness, the finish is long and spicy with an aftertaste of licorice and dark berry fruits.
