Akenta Spumante di Vermentino di Sardegna DOC

A sparkling wine from Sardinia that shows what Vermentino can do when it doesn't stay silent. The Cantina Santa Maria la Palma — one of the island's most important cooperatives north of Alghero — vinifies this Spumante using the Charmat method : secondary fermentation in pressure tanks, short contact time, maximum freshness.

Straw yellow in the glass with greenish reflections. The bouquet is immediate: white blossoms, a touch of peach, a hint of citrus grass—typical Sardinian Vermentino character without heaviness. The perlage is fine and persistent, the taste soft yet structured enough to pair well with food. Classified Extra Dry (12–17 g/l residual sugar), meaning it has a noticeable but not overpowering sweetness. The 2021 vintage was awarded a gold medal at Mundus Vini .

Cantina Santa Maria la Palma

Cantina Santa Maria la Palma – a story of farm workers who had nothing but land and an idea. After the agrarian reform of 1946, they received land between the Gulf of Alghero and the Bay of Ponte Conte. In 1959, 100 of them joined together to form a cooperative. Today, the winery combines modern technology with ancient traditions across 700 hectares. The Vermentino "Aragosta" has become a flagship of Sardinian white wines – good quality at attractive prices. Whether it's method, soil conservation, or technology: for them, quality always comes first.
