Santa Maria Aragosta Rosé

An uncomplicated Sardinian who simply works after a long day: fresh, easy to drink, without any rough edges.

Cantina Santa Maria la Palma is located in northwestern Sardinia, in the Nurra plain near Alghero—a region known for its aromatic white wines and light rosé wines. Founded in 1954, the cooperative now cultivates around 700 hectares, primarily with indigenous grape varieties such as Vermentino and Cannonau. The Aragosta—named after the Sardinian spiny lobster—is among the estate's most renowned wines.

In the glass, the rosé displays a pale salmon pink. The nose is dominated by strawberry and pomegranate, with a hint of rose petal. On the palate, it's light-bodied, with lively acidity and a short, clean finish. No oak, no residual sugar—a straightforward, everyday wine that doesn't aspire to be anything more.

Serving suggestion: Well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with grilled fish, antipasti with olives and pecorino, or simply as an aperitif on the patio. Drink now – no aging potential.

Cantina Santa Maria la Palma

Cantina Santa Maria la Palma – a story of farm workers who had nothing but land and an idea. After the agrarian reform of 1946, they received land between the Gulf of Alghero and the Bay of Ponte Conte. In 1959, 100 of them joined together to form a cooperative. Today, the winery combines modern technology with ancient traditions across 700 hectares. The Vermentino "Aragosta" has become a flagship of Sardinian white wines – good quality at attractive prices. Whether it's method, soil conservation, or technology: for them, quality always comes first.
