Pinot Blanc QbA dry
Schäfer-Fröhlich's Pinot Blanc shows what the Nahe region is capable of: not a pleasing everyday wine, but a Pinot Blanc with real weight and a clear signature.
The winery in Bockenau has been among the top German Nahe wine producers for years. Tim Fröhlich cultivates steep slopes on slate and porphyry – soils that give even approachable entry-level wines like this QbA a mineral backbone that is rare in this price range.
In the glass, ripe pineapple and honeydew melon, along with a characteristic Burgundy aroma and a slightly nutty component. The wine has extract – the mouthfeel is creamy, the texture significantly fuller than that of lean Pinot Blancs from cooler vineyards. The finish is long and lives up to the promise of the nose.
Serving suggestion: Serve at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with pasta in cream sauce, veal strips, pan-fried salmon, or a stronger soft cheese like Brie de Meaux. Drinking window: now until 2027.
