Wachtenburg Spätburgunder semi-dry
A Pinot Noir that knows exactly what it is – and shows it with conviction. The Wachtenburg Pinot Noir semi-dry from the Wachtenburg winemakers in the Palatinate is a fine choice for anyone who appreciates the character of red Burgundy but is looking for a wine that doesn't rely solely on heaviness.
In the glass, it displays an expressive, multi-layered bouquet of fresh red fruits – cherry, raspberry, and a subtle hint of spice in the background. On the palate, it possesses a silky texture with pleasant depth ; the off-dryness provides a pleasing roundness without making the wine heavy or cloying. The Gold Medal for the 2016 vintage is not an end in itself, but rather a testament to the solid winemaking expertise behind it.
This Pinot Noir will accompany you well through:
- Dishes with mushrooms, game birds or tender veal
- Mature cheeses such as Camembert or Brie
- Uncomplicated evenings with a good book – without wine getting in the way.
Ideal drinking temperature is between 16 and 18 degrees; it develops its full flavor best when slightly aerated.
