Taylor's Port Fine Tawny Port

Taylor's Port Fine Tawny Port
A classic Tawny Port from Taylor's – reliable, approachable and made in the time-honored style of one of Britain's oldest port wine houses.
Founded in 1692, Taylor's remains one of the most prestigious shipper wineries in the Douro Valley. Their Fine Tawny is the entry point to their Tawny range: a blend of different vintages, aged oxidatively in small oak pipes. During this process, the wine loses its original ruby-red color and develops the typical Tawny brown hue – with a reddish shimmer in the glass.
The nose reveals dried apricot, a touch of raisin, and a hint of walnut. On the palate, it is soft and medium-bodied, with flavors of fig, caramel, and mild wood spice. The finish is pleasantly sweet without being cloying.
- Serve at 14–16 °C, slightly chilled
- Food pairings: Good with blue cheese such as Gorgonzola, with walnut cake, or simply with nuts and almonds.
- Occasion: An uncomplicated digestif or accompaniment to a cheese platter
