St Aubin 1erCru Roche Dumay
St. Aubin lies directly behind Chassagne-Montrachet – and the Roche Dumay vineyard demonstrates why the village is one of the most exciting white wine producers in the Côte de Beaune. Weathered limestone soil, southeast exposure, moderate altitude: ideal conditions for Chardonnay with structure and freshness.
Domaine Bertrand Bachelet cultivates its plots in St. Aubin with the meticulous care usually associated with the renowned estates of Puligny or Meursault. Hand-harvesting, gentle pressing, and aging in Burgundy barrels – some of these new barrels designed to allow the terroir's natural minerality to shine through without masking it.
In the glass, the Roche Dumay displays a bright golden yellow. The nose offers aromas of white peach, citrus zest, and a distinct chalky note typical of the limestone soils of St. Aubin. On the palate, it presents lively acidity, a medium body, and a slightly nutty, smooth finish – a classic Côte-de-Beaune structure without heaviness.
