Chassagne Montrachet blanc

Chassagne-Montrachet is one of the great white wine addresses of Burgundy — and Bertrand Bachelet is one of the winemakers who defends this reputation with a steady hand. His Blanc shows what defines the appellation: depth without heaviness, freshness without sharpness.

The family winery manages sites in Chassagne-Montrachet and focuses on careful hand-picking and gentle vinification in the cellar. Traditionally aged in wooden barrels, with the goal of bringing the minerality of the limestone-marl soil to the fore — not the wood.

In the glass, a Chardonnay with a clear structure appears: white pear, ripe quince, and a hint of hazelnut, underneath a fine creaminess resulting from barrel aging. The acidity is present but integrated — no stinging, but length. The finish carries a light mineral note, like wet limestone.

Tasting & Serving: Serve between 11 and 13 °C. Pairs well with zander with beurre blanc, lobster, scallops, or mature Comté.
