Chassagne Montrachet blanc

Chassagne-Montrachet is one of Burgundy's great white wine regions — and Bertrand Bachelet is among the winemakers who have steadily upheld this reputation. His Blanc demonstrates what defines the appellation: depth without heaviness, freshness without harshness.

The family-run winery cultivates vineyards in Chassagne-Montrachet and focuses on careful hand-harvesting and gentle vinification in the cellar. Aging is traditionally done in wooden barrels, with the aim of highlighting the minerality of the limestone-marl soil—not the wood.

In the glass, this Chardonnay reveals a clear structure: white pear, ripe quince, and a hint of hazelnut, beneath which lies a delicate creaminess derived from barrel aging. The acidity is present but integrated—no harshness, just length. The finish carries a subtle mineral note, reminiscent of wet limestone.

Serving suggestion: Serve between 11 and 13 °C. Pairs well with pike-perch with beurre blanc, lobster, scallops, or mature Comté cheese. Drinking window: now until 2029.
