Maranges Village Rouge

Maranges is located at the southern tip of the Côte de Beaune – one of Burgundy's quiet addresses, where Pinot Noir grows on calcareous clay and limestone soil to produce a wine that has more substance than its price suggests.

Domaine Bertrand Bachelet manages its vineyards in Maranges with a focus on careful hand-harvesting and gentle vinification – typical for the small-scale family domaines of this appellation, which operate far from the hustle and bustle of the Grands Crus.

In the glass, the 2023 vintage displays intense cherry aromas, along with a hint of black pepper and a touch of earth. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins that still retain some bite – a sign that the wine has some aging potential. The finish is clean and spicy.

Best served between 16 and 18 °C. Drinking window 2025–2029. Pairs well with Coq au Vin, veal medallions with mushroom cream sauce, or a mature Époisses.
