St Aubin 1er Cru LC au Sud

St Aubin 1er Cru LC au Sud
St. Aubin lies right next to Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet – and its Premier Cru vineyards produce Chardonnay that lives up to this reputation. LC au Sud from Domaine Bertrand Bachelet demonstrates why St. Aubin is one of the most exciting white wine destinations in the Côte de Beaune.
Bachelet cultivates his plots in St. Aubin with a focus on pure fruit and terroir-driven minerality. The au Sud vineyard benefits from calcareous subsoil and good southern exposure – both of which significantly shape the character of the wine.
In the glass, the 2023 vintage displays a pale straw yellow color. The nose offers aromas of white peach, citrus zest, and a delicate hint of hazelnut. On the palate, it is taut, with lively acidity and a clear, mineral, chalky texture reminiscent of Puligny's renowned neighbors. The finish is long, saline, and dry.
