Proschwitz Castle Clemens dry

The family of the Prince of Lippe is among the oldest noble houses in Germany. Until 1918, the House of Lippe was one of the ruling princely houses of Germany. The branch to which Dr. Georg Prince of Lippe belongs has been based in Saxony since the beginning of the 18th century and was one of the most important entrepreneurial families there. Proschwitz Castle is Saxony's oldest still-existing winery. From the mid-12th century until the Reformation, the Proschwitz hills were owned by the Bishop of Meissen. A large portion of the sacramental wines needed in Saxony during this time came from the Proschwitz vineyard. Proschwitz Castle's white wine cuvée "Clemens" is named after the Prince of Lippe's grandfather. The cuvée is based on the Müller-Thurgau, Scheurebe, and Pinot Blanc grape varieties and offers aromas of juicy apples, fresh herbs, and yellow citrus fruits. This cuvée promises a lively taste experience, complemented on the palate by a hint of peach and a light minerality.
