Pinot Blanc

Pinot Blanc
Saxony is Germany's easternmost wine-growing region — and one of the most exciting. The Pinot Blanc from Schloss Proschwitz shows why: The cool Elbe Valley climate ensures a natural acidity structure and precise fruitiness that is hardly achievable in warmer locations.
Proschwitz Castle is Saxony's oldest privately owned winery. Prince zur Lippe has cultivated the hillside vineyards above the Elbe River since German reunification—with the aim of restoring the region's historic winemaking tradition to a serious mark of quality. He has succeeded.
In the glass, the Pinot Blanc displays aromas of green apple, white peach, and a hint of citrus zest. The palate is medium-bodied, with fresh acidity and a clean, mineral finish. Not a wine that overwhelms you—but one that leaves you wanting more.
Serving suggestion: Serve well chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with asparagus with hollandaise sauce, pan-fried pike-perch, or mild goat cheese. Ready to drink now until 2026.

The Prinz zur Lippe winery – the oldest winery in Saxony. After expropriation in 1945, it returned to family ownership in 1990 through Dr. Georg zur Lippe. Today, 70 hectares of vineyards with the best sites Kloster Heilig Kreuz Meißen and Schloss Proschwitz. Granite and loess loam characterize the soils. Elbling, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Goldriesling are grown – about 400,000 bottles annually. The Proschwitz terroir gives the wines filigree acidity, fine aromas and mineral fullness. A taste experience as individual as a fingerprint.
