Ruffino Chianti Superiore DOCG raffia bottle

Ruffino Chianti Superiore DOCG raffia bottle
The Ruffino Chianti Superiore comes in the classic straw-covered bottle – a piece of Tuscan wine culture that the Tuscans themselves call fiasco. Ruffino is one of the best-known Chianti houses in the region and has been producing in Pontassieve, east of Florence, since 1877.
A fresh, ruby-red image shows in the glass. The nose brings plum and damson, plus black pepper and subtle spice notes. Light and fruit-forward on the palate, with the acidity typical of Sangiovese, which enlivens the body. The tannins are present but soft enough to be able to drink the wine now – not a wine for aging, but an everyday companion with character. The finish is medium-long, spicy-fruity.
- Temperature: 16–18 °C
- Pairs with: Pasta al ragù, pizza Margherita, grilled bratwurst, or medium-aged Pecorino
