The Kavalan Triple Sherry Cask is a Taiwanese single malt that relies entirely on sherry: Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez and Moscatel casks are brought together in a vatting. The result is a distinctly sherry-driven profile with a wide range of aromas.

Kavalan comes from Taiwan, a country that is still young as a whisky origin, but has long since gained international attention. Here, the distillery's craftsmanship meets three sherry styles, each contributing its own character.

The nose reveals ripe berries and dried fruits, plus grape and citrus accents, a chocolate brownie, caramel sweetness, spice notes and a hint of rosemary. On the palate, dried fruits and candied fruits remain present for a long time, accompanied by caramel and honey. The texture is soft, the finish round and multi-layered.

Recommendation: neat and without haste, at 40% ABV. It also goes well with dark chocolate, desserts or aged cheese.
