Kavalan stands for what Taiwan has achieved in a short time in the whisky world: internationally awarded single malts from a distillery that was only founded in 2005 in Yilan County at the foot of the Snow Mountains. The humid, warm climate noticeably accelerates cask maturation and gives the distillates a dense, tropical-influenced fruitiness.

The 2025 edition of the Kavalan 15 Years Old Four Casks combines whisky from four different cask types — Kavalan's signature for their premium bottlings. Different wood influences are interwoven in such a way that neither a single cask character dominates nor the fruitiness of the distillate is lost. In the glass, dried tropical fruit, vanilla, caramel, and a hint of oak spice; the finish is long and warm with slight sweetness. 43% ABV — accessible without losing depth.

Neat at room temperature or with a drop of water, which opens up the aromas. As a digestif after a dinner with Asian cuisine or dark chocolate, it hits the character well.
