Heritage 1189 Pic-Saint-Loup

The Heritage 1189 comes from one of the most exciting appellations in the Languedoc: Pic Saint Loup , named after the striking limestone rock north of Montpellier. Its elevated position at 200–400 meters brings cooler nights and therefore more freshness and structure than one would expect from the south of France.

Behind the wine is Gérard Bertrand , one of the most influential names in the modern Languedoc. The winery practices biodynamic viticulture and emphasizes the unique character of each appellation — the name Heritage 1189 refers to the founding year of the original estate.

In the glass, the wine displays dark berry fruits— blackberry, black cherry —with a hint of garrigue, dried herbs, and a subtle spiciness from aging in oak barrels. The tannins are ripe and well-integrated, the acidity keeps the wine lively, and the finish is long and slightly spicy.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled lamb with rosemary , pot roast beef, or strong local goat cheese. Best enjoyed now until 2028.
