Cigalus Rouge

Gérard Bertrand 's Cigalus Rouge is an exceptional blend of seven grape varieties – a liaison between the classic Bordeaux varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and the typical southern French varieties Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Caladoc . The wine comes from the biodynamically farmed Domaine de Cigalus in the Corbières, near Narbonne, and carries the IGP Aude Hauterive classification.

In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red with warm, dark copper highlights . The nose is dense and concentrated with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, candied plum, and cassis , accompanied by subtle roasted notes, toasted oak, brown spices, and a hint of mint. On the palate, it is juicy, full-bodied, and opulent, with velvety, mature tannins and a long, harmoniously balanced finish.

Matured for 12 months in French oak barrels , biodynamically certified, at 14.5% ABV, served at 16–18°C . Ideal with steak, roast beef, game and strong cheeses – with aging potential until 2029 .
