Collection Riesling Unexpected

A Riesling from Baden-Württemberg with an unusual aroma profile: blood orange, citrus zest and a hint of smoke make this wine intriguing – and rightly so.

Schloss Ortenberg winery is one of the most traditional wineries in the Ortenau district, one of the warmest wine-growing regions in Baden-Württemberg. The Riesling grapes thrive here on weathered granite soils, which impart a mineral character to the wine.

In the glass, the 2023 Collection Riesling Unexpected displays aromas of blood orange and fresh citrus zest, underpinned by delicate green tea notes and a subtle hint of smoke. Candied fruit adds depth without overpowering the freshness. The wine is dry, with vibrant acidity and a clean, mineral finish.
