Merlot Collection

The Collection Merlot from the Schloss Ortenberg winery is a dry red wine from the Baden wine region, made from carefully selected Merlot grapes grown on the mineral-rich granite soils of the Ortenau. Aging in barriques gives the wine an elegant depth and velvety texture.

In the glass, it displays a bright, deep ruby ​​red. The nose is enticing with aromas of ripe plum, blackberry, and blackcurrant , underscored by delicate notes of cinnamon, clove, and a hint of toasted wood. On the palate, it is dense and full-bodied, with soft tannins, well-integrated acidity, and a long, spicy finish.

With an alcohol content of 13.5% ABV and an ideal serving temperature of 16–18°C, it pairs well with braised and game dishes, beef steaks, and strong cheeses. It is ready to drink now and will continue to develop for another 5–8 years in the cellar.
