Furore knows
The Furore white wine from the Schloss Ortenberg winery shows what Baden is capable of: ripe fruit, lively freshness and an aromatic depth that goes beyond simple summer white wines.
Ortenberg Castle is located in the Ortenau district, one of Baden's warmest wine-growing regions, nestled between the Black Forest and the Rhine plain. Under the management of Thomas Althoff, the winery has become a fixture in the region – receiving three awards from Falstaff, which is no small feat in this competitive environment.
In the glass, the 2023 Furore White displays aromas of blood orange and fresh citrus peel, complemented by green tea leaves and a subtle hint of smoke. A touch of rock candy adds a soft, ripe element without overpowering the freshness. On the palate, it is lively with a clear acidity and a pleasantly long, citrusy-spicy finish.
Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled pike-perch, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or a light goat cheese salad. It also makes a great aperitif on the patio.
