Collection Riesling Unexpected

Riesling from Baden-Württemberg with an unusual aroma profile: blood orange, citrus zest, and a hint of smoke make this wine intriguing – and rightly so.

Weingut Schloss Ortenberg is one of the traditional addresses in the Ortenau district, one of the warmest wine-growing regions in Baden-Württemberg. The Riesling thrives here on weathered granite soils, which give the wine a mineral basic tension.

In the glass, the Collection Riesling Unexpected 2023 shows aromas of blood orange and fresh citrus zest, underlaid by fine green tea notes and a light hint of smoke. Candied fruit brings depth without overpowering the freshness. The wine is vinified dry, with vibrant acidity and a clear, mineral finish.
