Granite. Pinot Blanc/Chardonnay Schloss Ortenberg
A white wine that bears its name like a promise: Granit from the Schloss Ortenberg winery combines the elegance of Pinot Blanc with the richness of Chardonnay to create a characterful Ortenau wine.
The Schloss Ortenberg winery is one of the most traditional estates in the Ortenau district, the northern Black Forest extension of Baden's wine region. The vineyards around Ortenberg benefit from one of Germany's warmest microclimates, volcanic and granitic weathered soils, and the Black Forest's protection against cool westerly winds—ideal conditions for full-bodied white wines with substance.
In the glass, the Granit wine displays a straw-yellow hue with golden reflections. The nose opens with aromas of ripe apple, white peach, and a hint of almond. On the palate, the Pinot Blanc contributes freshness and minerality, while the Chardonnay adds a smooth, creamy texture. The finish is medium-long, with a delicate spiciness and subtle minerality that truly lives up to its name.
Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with asparagus with hollandaise sauce , pan-fried pike-perch fillet, mild goat cheese, or a summery herb risotto. Drink now or store until 2027.
