Camille Les Charmonts rouge Homage AC Côteaux Champenois 0.75L

A still red wine from the heart of Champagne — and therefore a true rarity. Les Charmonts shows what Pinot Noir can achieve in Champagne beyond its effervescence.

Louis Roederer, one of the most prestigious wineries in Reims, vinifies this Coteaux Champenois from a single parcel in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ: the "Charmont" vineyard. The 2019 vintage was bathed in sunshine, with significant temperature fluctuations—a combination that fosters both concentration and freshness. Still red wines from Champagne are produced in small quantities and rarely reach the open market.

In the glass, it displays the typical elegance of Champagne Pinot Noir fruit: ripe cherry, raspberry, a hint of violet. This is complemented by a lively acidity that keeps the wine taut, and fine, silky tannins with a long, mineral-driven finish.

Best served at 16–17 °C . Pairs well with quail breast with lentils, veal medallions, or a mature Époisses. Anyone who loves Burgundy should know this wine.

Champagne Louis Roederer

Since its founding in Reims in 1776, the Louis Roederer estate has remained in the same family. Today, it is one of the most important independent family-owned wineries in Champagne. Frederic Rouzard, a direct descendant of Louis Roederer, is the current Director General. His goal is to create the Champagne of tomorrow, ensuring that Louis Roederer will still be a benchmark in 20 years' time. The vineyards cover a total area of 240 hectares, exclusively in Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites along the Marne River. Since 2001, the majority of the estate has been undergoing a gradual conversion to biodynamic farming, which is scheduled for completion in 2020.
