Bruchsaler Rothenberg Pinot Gris

A Pinot Gris with real backbone: dense body, salty minerality and a finish that lingers.

The Klumpp winery is located in Bruchsal, on the northern edge of the Kaiserstuhl hills, where the Rothenberg vineyard is one of the region's best sites. The Klumpp family is among the most reliable wineries in Baden – meticulously crafted, without any gimmicks.

On the nose, the wine initially displays cool herbal spice, hay, and freshly dried apple peels, underpinned by a hint of butter. On the palate, it becomes fuller: a robust body with a noticeable creaminess, a dense, salty minerality that keeps the wine vibrant despite its power. The tannins are delicate and velvety—unusual for a white wine, but here a sign of substance. The finish is long and serene, with herbal minerality and, once again, those dried apple peels lingering on the aftertaste.

Serving temperature: 12–14 °C . Pairs well with roasted sweetbreads, whitefish from Lake Constance, or a mature Munster with caraway. Also a good choice as a standalone wine in the evening.
