Boschendal Heritage Collection Grande Syrah

The Heritage Collection Grande Syrah from Boschendal is the absolute top product of the historic winery in the Franschhoek Valley – one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, founded in 1685. The grapes come exclusively from a single, hand-picked block of vines on weathered granite soil on the south-facing slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch , irrigated without limits and rigorously thinned for extreme quality – only 15 barrels per vintage.

In the glass, it shines a deep, brilliant dark red . The nose is elegant and complex with aromas of dark plum, blackberry, exotic fruits, black pepper, and spices , accompanied by delicate notes of chocolate and subtle oak spice. On the palate, it combines juicy fruit with cool restraint, seamlessly integrated tannins, and a long, silky finish – Old World elegance with a South African twist.

Matured for 15 months in French oak barrels (40% new), served at 14.0% ABV at 16–18°C . Ideal with beef goulash, lamb chops, and grilled vegetables – with an aging potential of up to 30 years .
