Boekenhoutskloof Syrah
White pepper, violets, a hint of leather — the Boekenhoutskloof Syrah shows from the first moment that South Africa has long been setting its own standards for Syrah.
Boekenhoutskloof is located in the Franschhoek Valley, one of South Africa's oldest wine-growing regions. Since the 1990s, the estate has been considered one of the leading names in the Cape, renowned for its precise vinification and wines that combine European structure with South African fruit intensity. The Syrah is the flagship of this philosophy.
The nose is dominated by white pepper—the classic characteristic of cool, granite-rich sites. This is complemented by floral notes, a mineral undertone, and subtle cloves. On the palate, black berries and dark cherry follow, embedded in a firm yet ripe tannin structure. The finish is long, spicy, with a hint of leather.
