Boekenhoutskloof Chocolate Block 0.375L
The Boekenhoutskloof Chocolate Block is one of South Africa's most sought-after red wines – and anyone who has tasted it immediately understands why. This cuvée is no accident, but the result of consistent work with exceptional terroir and a distinct winemaking style.
At its heart is Grenache from some of South Africa's oldest vines , grown on sandy soils in Citrusdal. Complemented by Syrah, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a touch of Viognier, this cuvée possesses remarkable depth: dark berry fruit, a hint of chocolate, subtle spice – complex, yet never overpowering.
At the table, it pairs particularly well with grilled lamb, hearty braised dishes, or mature hard cheeses . Those who enjoy it on its own – simply in a glass, discovering it layer by layer – will also not be disappointed.

Boekenhoutskloof was founded around 1776 in the remotest corner of the beautiful Franschhoek Valley. The "French Corner" (Franschhoek) has preserved much of the French way of life, and thus the winemaking tradition is also rooted in French traditions. The name "Boekenhoutskloof" means "Valley of the Cape Beeches" and was popularized under this name by winemaker Marc Kent. The most well-known grape variety is Syrah, but Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon, and Viognier are also part of the portfolio.
