Delas

Maison Delas Frères – the soul of the Rhône Valley. A traditional house since 1835, but 1996 brought a turning point. Fabrice Rosset and oenologist Jacques Grange took over – and transformed Delas into one of the "Big Four" of the Rhône. Grange, with his Burgundian experience, focuses on elegance rather than sheer power. Vinification by individual parcel, an uncompromising focus on terroir. 32 hectares of their own top vineyards: Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage. The result: wines with freshness, depth, and character. In 2019, Delas moved into its new cellar in Tain-l'Hermitage – after almost 190 years, finally seeing the light where it belongs. The Rhône as it should taste.

Maison Delas Frères –
terroir wines from the Rhône Valley

Maison Delas Frères is one of the oldest wineries in the Rhône Valley – founded in 1835 and located in the heart of Tain-l'Hermitage . What had long been a solid, traditional house underwent a transformation in 1996: Fabrice Rosset and oenologist Jacques Grange took over and fundamentally redefined the Delas style. Grange, shaped by his Burgundian training, brought a focus on elegance and precision – rather than the power so often associated with the Rhône Valley.

Today, Delas cultivates 32 hectares of its own vineyards in the most prestigious appellations of the northern Rhône Valley: Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, and Crozes-Hermitage. Each parcel is vinified separately to bring its unique terroir to the glass as directly as possible. The result is wines with freshness, depth, and a clear sense of origin – not stylization, but a true expression of the site.

In 2019, Delas moved into a new cellar in Tain-l'Hermitage – a move that, after almost 190 years in operation, brings the work in the vineyard and the cellar closer together. Delas wines represent the northern Rhône Valley in its most concentrated form: Syrah with structure and length, Viognier with vibrancy rather than heaviness.
