Crozes-Hermitage Domaine des Grands Chemins AC 1.5L

A Syrah from the northern Rhône valley that combines structure and elegance: The Crozes-Hermitage Domaine des Grands Chemins from Delas comes here in the 1.5-liter magnum, which is suitable for larger dinner parties.

Delas, the house based in the Rhône valley, bottles this dry red wine from the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, which lies around the famous Hermitage hill. Syrah is the only red grape variety here, and it brings the typical dark fruit and spice of the northern Rhône.

In the glass, it shows a deep garnet red with violet reflections. On the nose, there are dark cherries, blackberries, and blackcurrants; with some air, fine smoke notes and licorice are added. On the palate, the tannins are present but finely integrated and give the wine an almost silky texture. Dense fruit and a spicy note carry it into a long finish.

Serve it at 16 to 18 °C, preferably after brief decanting. It pairs well with braised lamb shoulder, duck breast, beef cheeks, or strong hard cheese, and the magnum is ideal for a meal with friends or family.

The Domaine

Delas

Maison Delas Frères – the soul of the Rhône Valley. A traditional house since 1835, but 1996 brought the turning point. Fabrice Rosset and oenologist Jacques Grange took over – and made Delas one of the "big four" of the Rhône.

Grange, with Burgundian experience, focuses on elegance instead of pure power. Parcel-by-parcel vinification, uncompromising terroir focus. 32 hectares of their own top sites: Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage. The result: wines with freshness, depth, and character.

In 2019, Delas moved into the new cellar vault in Tain-l'Hermitage – after almost 190 years into the light, where it has long belonged. Rhône as it tastes.
