Crozes-Hermitage Les Willens AC 0.75L

Varietal Syrah from the northern Rhône that combines the typical seriousness of the appellation with an accessible fruit depth — a classic entry into the world of Crozes-Hermitage.

Delas Frères is one of the established négociant houses of the northern Rhône based in Saint-Jean-de-Muzols, directly below the Hermitage hill. The Les Launes cuvée sources its grapes from the diverse soils of the appellation: granite-like slopes in the north, flatter gravel and loess terraces south of Tain-l'Hermitage. This soil diversity is reflected in the style — structured, but not angular.

In the glass, deep garnet red. On the nose, dark blackberry, black olive, and a hint of violet, plus the peppery-meaty note characteristic of northern Rhône Syrah. On the palate, medium to full body, ripe tannins with good length, dry finish with subtle spice. Drinking temperature: 16–18 °C.

Pairs well with braised lamb rack with herbs of Provence, beef sausage from the grill, or a strong Époisses. Also a safe choice as an accompaniment to hearty charcuterie.

The Domaine

Delas

Maison Delas Frères – the soul of the Rhône Valley. A traditional house since 1835, but 1996 brought the turning point. Fabrice Rosset and oenologist Jacques Grange took over – and made Delas one of the "big four" of the Rhône.

Grange, with Burgundian experience, focuses on elegance instead of pure power. Parcel-by-parcel vinification, uncompromising terroir focus. 32 hectares of their own top sites: Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage. The result: wines with freshness, depth, and character.

In 2019, Delas moved into the new cellar vault in Tain-l'Hermitage – after almost 190 years into the light, where it has long belonged. Rhône as it tastes.
