Delas Viognier

The grapes for the Viognier from Delas thrive on calcareous soils on the slopes of the Pont du Gard. A short contact with the grape skins during maceration gives the wine structure, but the grapes are pressed quickly to emphasize a fruity character. To ensure fine fruitiness and freshness, malolactic fermentation is avoided, and the white wine matures exclusively in stainless steel tanks.

In the nose, the typical aromas of the grape variety unfold, including apricot, peach, exotic fruits, and citrus notes. On the palate, the wine presents itself soft and supple, with a fresh finish reminiscent of dried fruits. It harmonizes excellently with steamed fish, refined with a hint of lemon and butter sauce, or with asparagus dishes.

The Domaine

Delas

Maison Delas Frères – the soul of the Rhône Valley. A traditional house since 1835, but 1996 brought the turning point. Fabrice Rosset and oenologist Jacques Grange took over – and made Delas one of the "big four" of the Rhône.

Grange, with Burgundian experience, focuses on elegance instead of pure power. Parcel-by-parcel vinification, uncompromising terroir focus. 32 hectares of their own top sites: Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage. The result: wines with freshness, depth, and character.

In 2019, Delas moved into the new cellar vault in Tain-l'Hermitage – after almost 190 years into the light, where it has long belonged. Rhône as it tastes.
