Côte-Rotie Seigneur de Maugiron AC 0.75L

The Seigneur de Maugiron is one of the classic entry points into the Côte-Rôtie universe — a northern Rhône Syrah that shows the characteristic tension between dark fruit, smoke, and floral finesse of this appellation.

Delas Frères is one of the oldest négociant houses in the northern Rhône, founded in 1835 in Tournon-sur-Rhône. For this wine, parcels from both the Côte Brune and the Côte Blonde are vinified — two sites with different soil profiles that complement each other: the Brune brings structure and depth, the Blonde elegance and freshness. The grapes are harvested by hand.

In the glass, it shows a deep carmine red. On the nose, black currant, red currant, and licorice, along with a distinct smoky tone typical of the granite subsoil of the Côte Rôtie. On the palate, it is juicy with well-integrated tannins and a spicy, lingering length.

Best served at 16–18 °C. Pairs with leg of lamb with herbs de Provence, wild boar ragout, or aged Ossau-Iraty. If you like, let it lie for another two to four years — the fruit will open up, and the smoke will recede slightly.
