Côte-Rotie Seigneur de Maugiron AC 0.75L

Seigneur de Maugiron is one of the classic entry points into the Côte-Rôtie universe — a Northern Rhône Syrah that showcases the characteristic tension between dark fruit, smoke and floral finesse of this appellation.

Delas Frères is one of the oldest négociant houses in the Northern Rhône, founded in 1835 in Tournon-sur-Rhône. This wine is made from parcels of both the Côte Brune and the Côte Blonde—two vineyards with different soil profiles that complement each other: the Brune contributes structure and depth, the Blonde elegance and freshness. The grapes are harvested by hand.

In the glass, it displays a deep carmine red color. The nose offers aromas of blackcurrant, redcurrant, and licorice, along with a distinct smoky note typical of the granite bedrock of the Côte Rôtie. On the palate, it is juicy with well-integrated tannins and a spicy, lingering finish.

Best served at 16–18 °C . Pairs well with leg of lamb with herbs de Provence, wild boar ragout, or aged Ossau-Iraty. If desired, age for another two to four years—the fruit opens up, and the smokiness recedes slightly.
